The Old Nick Theatre, Gainsborough Feb 18th Investigation

Here you will find a selection of videos from the excellent Friday night investigation at the Old Nick Theatre, Gainsborough.
EVENTS OF THE NIGHT

My group started in the cells, phil picked up on a smell of urine and a shadow figure who was a drunk, we felt cold spots in the cell, also a breeze and cold spots were felt when asked for by Phil, he also came up with the name George. I felt my head being touched and another man felt his arm grabbed. Phil also picked up on three gentlemen in spirit and a figure of authority with white hair and a handlebar moustache,we could smell disinfectant and shadows were seen moving in the corridor.

HUMAN PENDULUM

as we started there was aloud thump on the floor, Carol was the pendulum as we contacted a male spirit who worked there and died there in 1800 of breathing problems connected to smoking.

BACK DOWN CELLS WITH MY SECOND GROUP

We went to the ladies cell and started some glass divination,we contacted the spirit of a man, we then continued on the ouija board to discover he was known as Samuel Graves the warden in charge of the prisoners, he was mean and violent to the ladies including rape, however he does regret the things he did,he died in 1889 following a hit on the head from a female prisoner. He told us of Mary Elizabeth Kemp who was the cook in the prison area and he made her perform abortions on the women.

We then had free time and i accompanied a group led by Karen Campbell for a vigil in one of the cells and the cold spots and smells were all experienced again, also some people felt pressure around their throats.

We then had a debrief where we found that some of the information collected by the separate groups actually matched.

Thanks everyone we had a great night.

At the start of the evening whilst doing a walk round with my team, we started off down in the male cell area and when walking down the corridor the male exercise yard door suddenly swung open in front of us, which we thought was a bit odd bearing in mind how heavy that door is. We then went upstairs to the dressing room area and one lady began to feel very uneasy, that she was being watched and we weren't welcome to be in that area, so she stayed in the corridor. The lady's legs then locked, she just couldn't move them, this lasted for approx 5 mins (though it probably felt longer to her) and with Dave's help the sensation gradually wore off and we went down stairs.

We then went into the other dressing room where Dave again felt there was a male presence, which looked a bit like a "John Bull" character; lots of cold breezes were experienced in there.

Back into the bigger dressing room Dave connected with the spirit of a man who he described as having a handlebar moustache going into his sideburns with a medical connection, who worked there against his own free will. Dave then led the group in a human Pendulum exercise, with Carol as the "Pendulum". Through answers obtained there was a male energy who worked in the building, when it was law courts, as a lawyer/solicitor, he was Welsh but ran out of time to gain any more information.

On the way out of the room, the same lady that had been affected with her legs before became affected again. The lady said that her legs wouldn't move, with help from Dave who was asking for the effects to be taken off her, and myself guiding and reassuring her, the sensation gradually went and once we were out of that area that lady felt much better.

After tea break I remained in the upstairs area but had the other team with me and at this point neither groups had discussed what the other team had had happened.

Steve in the group picked up on a young girl who had suffered a miscarriage and he felt stomach pains and felt she was curled up in the corner.

Phil also in the group sensed a female energy, older lady in her 50 - 60's in the early 1900's, possibly a seamstress who barely acknowledged men and would sometimes be friendlier to females but could be rude to ladies to. We began an Ouija in this room and the planchette did move, but we only got time to ask a few questions before we went for a tea break. The energy was that of a female, and was the lady who had been affecting us with cold breezes and stomach pains.

It is interesting how two different groups both picked up on very similar things in the same rooms.

After tea break it was free time and I went down into the second male cell, with Graham and 5 customers. In there we had temperature drops, urine smell, poo smell, three of group felt a strangling sensation around their neck, shadows, heard what sounded like small stones being thrown, the planchette in the middle of the floor seemed to have someone walk round it. Myself and Phil picked up on a cocky arrogant male energy, looked a bit like a young David Essex, not very tall, thin, felt that he would have been diagnosed with a mental illness today, not a nice energy, possibly rapist who had been hung, got the name possibly of Jack.

After our last tea break we went with Dave to the green room for our final vigil and a few lights were seen by the group, Dave picked up on a man in green coat, bit like a morning suit coat with long tails, quite a pleasant man who was walking around, several people felt very cold, nearly all the group heard a whistle being blown - the type used by policemen, that was heard a couple of times and no explanation could be found. We also heard movement above us like things being dragged across the floor, but when I checked on the rest of the crew’s movements they were sitting down and not moving at all.
