Ghosts of The Redoubt
The Harwich Redoubt is a circular fort, 200 feet in diameter, which was built c1808 to defend the Harwich harbour against Napoleonic invasion. This impressive location is steeped in military history. Surrounded by a deep moat, it can only be accessed by one removable drawbridge.
Housing a fine museum, on display are a range of large guns, uniforms and other artefacts which all add to its atmosphere and which may bring with them the colourful past of their former owners/users.
