Event report from The Talbot Hotel, Oundle

Big room upstairs
we started on the ouija board contacting a spirit who said his name was Adam Johson (Johnson), he died in 1844 at age 65 of natural causes, he said he was connected to K & G so we closed the board as K & G is Karen and myself.
We then contacted a spirit called Violet Mason who is Grandmother toJanet so we closed the board again(i Guess she just dropped in to say "hello").
We then got a spirit spelling 'help' but it seemed to be messing.
We then contacted a female spirit called Jam who died in 1858 age 24, she worked here as a servant, she was English with 2 children John 34 and janet 18.

The Big Room Downstairs
We started with glass divination, the glass was moving in big circles very fast so we tried Table Tipping, the table was rocking from side to side and at one point going all the way down to the ground and standing up again all this was on demand
We then went on the ouija contacting a spirit called Benjamin Wells
he died 1952 at 28 years old and he died somewhere near by, he was kicked by a horse.
He was married to Alice They had two children, these are two girls still living in oundle, one of them lives in a street called Heron .......?.

Small Room Upstairs
We started on the glass which was turning on the spot then moving fast from corner to corner and the light inside the glass went on and off on demand( we thought the battery was dying but seemed ok afterwards). We had the K2 meter on the table and the glass started hitting it hard. the glass then flew off the table several times. Also the glass was moving very fast around the light inside without touching it, also the spirit we had contacted seemed to like a good laugh because when we laughed the glass moved in a violent manor.
Also most of the group experienced cold spots during this session.

I had a great time with a great group. Thankyou everyone
i hope to see you all again soon.

The evening started with a large group seance in the Whitwell suite with Jane picking up on the spirit of a local man who she felt had been hung locally for a minor misdemeanor such as stealing vegetables to feed his family. John sensed the spirit of a man wearing a kilt who was between 50-60's.

We then split into small groups and my group started in the whitwell suite along with Debbie Dean - medium. We tried a ouija session but with no success and also glass divination with no success. One lady in the group smelt a waft of cigar smoke and the lights on the K2 meter did flash a few times.

The same group then moved to the Mary Queen of Scots suite where we had a reasonably successful ouija session. Debbie and Karen connected with the spirit of a man who looked a bit like Mr Filch (the caretaker in Harry Potter films). He spelt his name as Charles Duseux, died in 1626 from the pox/plague, he had 4 kids and was married and lived in Oundle. He confirmed that he worked in a workhouse where he was in charge of the children and he confirmed that he had abused the children, selling them, starving, beating. Whilst talking to Charles, Russ felt his right arm being touched and Charles would only respond on the ouija if Russ asked the questions. During the session we all heard a metal clinking noise which we later thought could possibly have been the dowsing rods knocking against each other but these were laid on the dressing table and no one was near them at the time when the noise was made, also a marble had fallen on the floor. Debbie and Karen done some scrying in the bedroom mirror and both saw the reflection of a hood coming over our heads.

For our last team session we were in the Fotheringay suite. Debbie and karen picked up on a lady holding a baby of about 9 months old standing near the window. Debbie got the name Martha with this lady, she was wearing a white mop cap, grey dress and an apron, the baby was not hers by birth but she considered the baby to be hers as she had "adopted" the baby as her real mother was unable to look after her, Martha didnt have any natural children on her own. Martha appeared to be a happy lady and on numerous occasions she got the lights on the K2 meter to flash right up to orange in answer to questions as well as responding on the ouija board, Martha spelt out her name on the ouija board, she also had another little girl around her of about 4-5 who she called little Martha but her real name was Elizabeth, Martha died in 1859.

The last part of the evening was free time for the customers.
