Rothley Station Investigation

Spooky-nightsUK.com's Rothley Station investigation was on the whole a generally quiet night on the Ouija and glass. Although some spirits were felt by various people in the group, without prior knowledge of the spirits of Rothley left us a little in the dark. Some of the things we picked up on were confirmed later by the staff of Rothley including a child and mother on the entrance stairs of the platform and also the figure of a man in uniform which was later confirmed as a station master, who doesn’t like people in his station.
We had a memorable incident where our resident medium Jane felt like she had been touched. Check it out below. All in all a quiet but intriguing investigation and we look forward to returning at some stage in the future.

Gary met everyone in the car park of the station before we all walked over to the platform and met our contact for the night in the station office.

Once we all got sat in the waiting room, we were told that the last steam train of the night was coming through and a few people wanted to take pictures of that before starting the investigation.

The investigation began with a very quick meet and greet and then a walk around the various locations.

We then returned to the waiting room and started off with a quick vigil. The vigil seemed very quiet and not a lot happened at all. So we decided to do a Ouija board in the same location. The planchette didn’t really move apart from the odd little movement which could have been a person with their finger on it moving it without even realising.

We then decided to do a vigil on the platform stairs that lead up to the road, at this point various people reported that they felt like they wanted to fall down the stairs for no reason.

Between Jane and John our mediums for the night, they picked up on the spirit of a lady with a pram or pushchair struggling on the stairs, and also a little boy of about 5-6. During the debriefing at the end, it was confirmed to us that indeed it is know that a lady with a push chair and also her son was walking down the stairs and her son fell and broke his neck and died at the scene.

We also picked on a man in uniform, who was quite strict. The uniform was very smart with buttons down both sides, and also a small flat hat. Once again it was later confirmed that this may well have been the old station master, who doesn’t like people doing these types of activities on his station.

Then a small group, ventured into the museum, this had a strange atmosphere, but was probably the high light of the night for a few of us thanks to Jane the medium. Jane reported that she has been touched on the head, something touching her hair.

She then moved around and reported this again, it was at this point that she jumped with fright, only to find when we investigated what may have caused it; we found a chain hanging down from the ceiling.

At which point we all burst into laughter and this moment is caught on camera for all to see, much to Jane’s disgust.

We then moved into the waiting room once again and tried some table tipping, this proved to be slightly better than the glass divination and the table did tip. Was it paranormal activity though? This we will probably never know.

After that we had our final debriefing where we were joined by a member of staff from Rothley Station, and at this point he told us about the spirits of the place and we could indeed match some of the detail up.
